We will be sending home brochures from the Dairy Council on healthy eating. These are free to us and are very helpful in how to get your children to eat more healthy foods. Different age groups have different brochures. Please take the time to look at these.
Thank you to everyone who ate at Mi Tortilla on October 9, 2008. We
made a total of $370.56. That is great! Thank you!
The teachers who are out on car pick-up duty have asked once again that you not allow your teenagers with learning permits to drive into the yard. They have seen a few in the past two weeks. Also, please do not park in the courtyard in the morning and let your children out. They run between cars to get into the building. This is dangerous. If you have to stop, use the lot on 13th St. and walk across to the school.
The teachers have begun the Virtus program, a continuation of what we did last year. This program is called The Protecting God’s Children Touching Safety Program. As part of this program, students may have some work to do at home. Please ask your child/children to share this information with you. We must all take an active part in keeping our children safe.
A friendly reminder: Please let us know as soon as possible in the morning if you are picking up your child/children early. The office can then notify the teacher who can have the child/children ready to go when you get to school.
Just a reminder that fundraising counts for both hours and fundraising. Some of you earned many hours and lots of money toward your fundraising obligation from the Innisbrook sale. Thank you all so much. We will have the top sellers and the total amount sold by the first week in November and will let you know. On October 22, our Masterpiece Cookie Dough sale began. All orders are due November 5. No late orders will be accepted. We have also had requests from parents to sell See’s candy for the holiday. We will go ahead and send the brochures home. Remember, this is yet another way of earning hours and profit toward your fundraising obligation.
Some of you are turning in hour sheets with no name. Please put your name at the top of the page, so we know who has earned those hours.
Another way of earning hours and credit for fundraising is selling the raffle tickets for the Chrysler 300 for the Bishops’ Golf Tournament. Seventy-five per cent of the sales stay at school, so this can be a good fund raiser for us. Please don’t return them to us…try to sell them.
You might have noticed that we have a new copier in the office. This machine is not costing us any more than the old one; in fact, we may even save some in bad copy costs. In addition, we will be able to print report cards from Gradelink directly to the copier…much more efficient than any of the printers in our office.
Our Smart boards will be ordered this month and will be in use as soon as we can inservice all of the teachers on their use. Thank you for all of your hard work last year in raising the funds for them.
“Loving God,
give us strength so we can share in the whole life of Jesus
both the joy of eternal life
and also the pain that sometimes comes
from doing your will instead of what you want to do.
We ask this through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Amen.
Sincerely,
Elaine M. Roy
